All SAS programmers know about variables and have used them, but do they really know what all you can do with variables and variable names?  For each variable, SAS programmers have access and control to both the metadata and data components.

In this training session, we will explore how values are processed as well as variable names.  Many of the typical numeric and character functions will be reviewed to change values, for example.  For variable names, typical use is to rename variables.  Few programmers may know that you can, for example, use INDEX() to compare constant values or that other useful metadata functions such as VNAME() and VLABEL() exist.  Other references to variable names include in KEEP, DROP, DO Loops and Macro variables.

SAS Savvy Premium/University Members attend for free but still need to register. Non SAS Savvy Premium Members must pay $65. It's not too late to upgrade today to attend for free.

Computer and phone connections are required. Webinar will be recorded for on-demand viewing.
